BROBED STILS have been together since christmas 1993, they have played over 1000 gigs together from Bradford to Brighton, from small pubs to festivals and carnivals, weddings, birthdays, christmas parties, corporate functions and even divorce parties. They play every kind of music under the sun from blues to rock to reggae to soul to African music – Whatever the audience wants to hear. There’s plenty to keep any party rocking. Unbelievable though it may seem, the quartet have been serving up their mood-lifting kwela and township sounds at local hostelries since 1993. At last they have finally got round to putting some of it down on tape. Jabulani, Ndafuna Funa and Chinafune Mbale, with their hypnotic dance rhythms, transport you to a land of palm trees and blokes in brightly-coloured shirts. PETERSFIELD HERALD REVIEW: A ray of African sunshine warmed a freezing Petersfield night as local band Brobed Stils brought their own brand of African fusion rock to the town. Playing at the Good Intent to an enthusiastic audience the band cut loose with some very danceable tunes. The band started the evening with their own numbers before launching into rock and roll classics. After a short break they were back building the tempo -dragging the audience to a warmer climate. By the time they got to the encore the crowd were firmly behind them. What a great way to end the weekend – and bring an optimistic start to the Week.
